About Tim

Third District Peoria City Councilman Tim Riggenbach served on the Peoria County Board for over six years before he was elected to the City Council in April 2009.

With 25 years of practical, hands-on, business and finance experience, Riggenbach works as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Downtown Peoria. Previously, he was an Assistant Vice President and Small Business Lender for Associated Bank. His finance background, however, goes back to the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange where he was the Short Term Interest Rate Analyst for Prudential Securities.

Riggenbach serves as Vice-Chair of the Metro Peoria Committee, which is charged with finding ways for the City of Peoria and Peoria County to collaborate and cooperate in the delivery of services to their constituents. He also serves on the City/County Landfill Committee and the Peoria Riverfront Museum Construction Committee. He is Secretary for the Tri-County River Valley Development Authority and just completed a five year stint on the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission where he had served terms as both Treasurer and Second Vice-Chair. While on the County Board, he was chairman of the Finance Committee which conducted the due diligence and ultimately voted to facilitate the referendum which allowed for the construction of the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

Riggenbach and his wife, Barbara have been married for 17 years and along with their five children, they live in the heart of Peoria where they are active in their church (Richwoods Christian Church) and the affairs of District 150 schools.
